Lorene Brooks

Lorene (Burke) Brooks born July 10, 1949 age 74, passed peacefully at her home on February 25, 2024 surrounded by family. She was a lifetime and faithful member at Brewers Chapel Missionary Baptist Church. She worked in the Hancock County School system for 34 years until her retirement in 2018. She is preceded in death by her parents Garrett and Lena Burke, husband Jerry Lee Brooks Sr., brothers John Henry “Fay” Burke and Kyle Perry, sisters Opal Standifer and Marie “Rebe” Davis.She is survived by; Daughter; Sandra (Kenneth) Trent, Son; Jerry Lee (Amanda) Brooks Jr., Grandsons; Adam and Lucas Trent, Jordan (Brooke) Brooks and Kobee Brooks, Great-granddaughter; Amelia Trent, Great-grandsons; Noah and Nash Brooks, Sister; Dorothy Seals, Sister-in-law; Shelvie Burke, Many nieces and nephews that she loved dearly.The family would like to extend a special thanks to Sneedville Medical Center, Amedisys Home Health and Gentiva Hospice for their exceptional care throughout Lorene’s sickness.The family will receive friends from 5 P.M. to 8 P.M. on Wednesday, February 28, 2024 at the McNeil Funeral Home Funeral services will be held at 10 A.M. on Thursday, February 29, 2024 at the McNeil Funeral Home Chapel Rev. Andrew Greene & Rev.
